Need additional YDNA tester from Reuben Smith b 1790 VA -1850 Polk Co MO
One of the members, who has done YDNA testing, has a haplogroup of Q-M242-3. His line comes from Reuben Smith b 1790 VA to Polk Co MO m Lavina Brown (Cammon on marriage certificate). Because Lavina married Reuben in 1830 at Greene County, Illinois, some children in the familiy may actually not be his but Cammon? That includes Nehemiah Smith b 1826 TN, Martha Jane Smith b 1828 TN and Mary Smith b 1830 IL Reuben passed way in 1850 at Polk Co MO and widow Lavina can be found at 518:518 in Polk Co MO with John Smith 15, Nancy Smith 11, William Smith 9, Priscilla Smith 7, Margaret Smith 4, Lavina Smith 3 and Matilda Smith 0. (Nehimah Smith is next door to this family at 521:521.
Son John A Smith was born in 1834 at Polk Co MO and married Lucinda Welsh. Children were Nancy, James B (or V), Thomas J, Reuben, Martha, John.
Specifically, would like to find a YDNA tester from John A Smith m Lucinda Belle Welsh but best through another son than James B, ie, George Reuben Smith, Thomas J Smith or John Smith that is a male Smith descendant.
One reason for this is when you go farther back than the earliest Reuben Smith, there is another member who does not match this member on YDNA, so would like additional testers to create a baseline.

icon for FF/AUT (Family Finder/Autosomal type test) means caution, needs to be verified. Same, obviously, with Tree Only and mtDNA. means it has been verified with at least one other autosomal match which also has been verified with the YDNA test in this group. The project also keeps autosomal groups separately while waiting for additional information to link them to a YDNA group.

You can also go to a given ancestor page, and post a query to the Smith DNA Discussion forum (separate login and registration) Post a question regarding the line on the Smiths DNA Facebook group. If on FamilyTreeDNA, look up the match list and click on the email icon for a given matching kit.
The section with Tree/Ped/m/x/Y/FF(Aut) shows the top tree line and pedigree if known, and what the YDNA, mtDNA, X line would look like-does not necessarily mean the person has done a particular test- column 2 shows the test taken Groupings based on YDNA; mtDNA and FF/Aut are assumed to match based on tree; suggest those kits find a Smith male in line to YDNA compare. If you are a male Smith that did an autosomal test (Family Finder/Ancestry) and you are grouped with others, we strongly suggest you do a YDNA test as well.
