Pictured here are Skip, David, Jim, and Britt Smith and Ginny (Smith) Goblirsch kneeling by the headstone. This is what makes all the time you spend researching your ancestors worth the effort. Solomon is my 5X great grandfather and my first direct ancestor to settle in North Carolina. I've done quite a bit of research on him as he has become my favorite. On a recent trip to Burke and Caldwell Counties, North Carolina, I actuallty found the Solomon Smith family cemetery. It took a lot of research and not a little bit of luck, but it has now been found. It is overgrown by the forest and the location unknown until now. What a trip!
