According to this link at Genforum, Thomas Harrison Smith may have come to Ga around 1846. Per J Sparks.

Thomas Harrison Smith, based on his CSA record and census records was born in SC in March 1826, but did not come to Ga until 1846 according to his CSA pension application. In 1849, he married Harriet Elizabeth Taylor Lumpkin Co Ga. They probably received land from her father William Taylor. All the Taylors and Childress kin are living around them. The Smith Family bible lists her father as William Taylor and a written note that they married in his home. They are near this John Smith and Mary Montgomery because Wm Taylor owned land near them.

Based on census records, and births of children, John Smith was already living in Georgia in 1826. In the 1850 census you will see Hiram Smith, son of John Smith and Mary Montgomery born in Ga in 1826. Living near in the same census you will see Thomas Harrison Smith born in 1826 SC.

I have found one sibling of Thomas and that is Moses Smith of Old Pendleton/Pickens who moved near him in the 1850s. In 1900 my GGG Aunt Texie Smith Bailey (widow and daughter of Thomas was living in the Moses Smith household as a relative.) They were next door neighbors to Thomas and Harriet for many years until they all died of old age.
