*****Older information from 2014 regarding Ancestry retiring their YDNA tests. FamilyTreeDNA has YDNA tests you can take; for this project, we look for a male Smith who has a paternal Smith ancestry (ie your last name is Smith, you are a male OR you are a female or other surname that has a male Smiith in your line that can do a YDNA test for you.
Saw a notice today that Ancestry is retiring their YDNA and mtDNA tests. You can DOWNLOAD your data but better hurry up and do it. Once you do, you can UPLOAD it as a TRANSFER to the Smith Official DNA Project on FamilyTreeDNA starting at $19 (depends on the number of markers you want to transfer) .
