Working on the tree for you right now and sending you some questions. For example, I do not believe the Rebecca Narcissus Bankston is the same person as the Rebecca in the census in 1850 with Dempsey, or at least requires some proof.

For example, there is another family of Tobias Smith b 1779 NC who died in 1860 in Smith Co MS who married Rebecca Narcissus Bankston, daughter of John D Bankston and Henrietta Coats. According to the 1870 Smith Co MS census, she was born c 1783 in Georgia, also found on the 1850 Smith Co MS census (b 1784 GA) with husband Tobias Smith 71  (Tobias Smith on 1840 Smith Co MS census)

Dempsey Smith, on the other hand, at the same time the Tobias Smith family in Smith Co MS, is in Newton Co MS. (1845 Newton Co MS census, 1840 Newton Co MS, 1850 Newton MS with Rebecca b 1785 MS. There is a US General Land Office record of him getting land in Newton MS in 1841. Presumably their son William Smith b 1813 in that 1850 household. There is also a John Smith in 1850 next door 35 years old with son Dempsey.
