The Smith DNA Project has a number of new FTDNA DNA members, new Big-Y results and some family tree additions and corrections. Will be working on these for the next few days and hope to be caught up by Wednesday. Mentioning that we have had many more Big-Y testers over the last year and it's really great to see. Sometimes, such as in the Nathan Smith of NC group, there are a lot of them and it's clear to see by SNP more easily how the lines break down and how they moved. One of the latest is the first one in a group to do Big-Y so cannot compare on the members of the group until there are at least 2. AND there have been a number of people who did an autosomal test and got a YDNA (paternal) line test either on themselves as male Smiths with a straight line Smith descent or on a family member. All of you who have done this are fantastic and we hope to be able to get more clues on ancestry by doing this. Also, have had a lot of autosomal kit members -if this is you, be sure to look at your matches on FTDNA and point out which ones you KNOW are in your line that contains the Smith. Also a thank you to all those who see something that looks incorrect in a tree and write it in as a suggested change, AND those who sent in photos and documents. We appreciate you all! |
