Nehemiah Smith origins

Hello all,
We are still searching for the origins of Nehemiah Smith, who left England and arrived in Plymouth in 1637/8. We are looking other relatives to take the Big Y test and also for anyone who has a clue as to the family origins. Considerable effort has been put into this endeavor as e ven the people at the Great Migration project have listed his origin as unknown.
Much about his life is known, including his being a founder of Norwich, Connecticut and there are many descendants from the New London, and Lyme areas. The family records were destroyed when the British burned the town of Stonington in 1781 so we are hoping that there is a family member somewhere who holds the key to solving this brick wall mystery.

Being a bit more specific. To join the Smith DNA Project on FamilyTreeDNA, go login to FamilyTreeDNA with the credentials you have for FTDNA, then do a JOIN PROJECT and find the Smith DNA Project-Off....read more.....
