He has done a YDNA test and matches into a group that has an origin in England. There is a second family that matches first member on autosomal but not perfectly. That is John D Smith b 1827 Kentucky who married Mary Ann Hodges in 1853 in Ohio County Kentucky. Who are his parents?And, if you have done any type of DNA for this line, come join the Smith DNA Project at FTDNA (Official All) Could this John D Smith be the same one that is in Thomas J Smith b 1801 VA's family who married Eliza Grant?
