There is no evidence that Gabriel D. Smith (b. 1764) had a wife named Sarah Downs.

This should be acknowledged on this page and a different explanation sought for the close relationship between Gabriel D. Smith and Richard Downs.

Hi, Steve

Sent you an email last week about this. Always glad to see corrections to data based on sources. For this particular group, as mentioned, because this is a line affecting a number of people who also claim Sarah Downs, they need to be contacted/alerted, so that they can weigh in or at least be apprised of the potential change. There is also a contact person for this group that should also be notified.When you get ready to post your corrections, as you mentioned,  looking forward to it; again, be sure everyone is included or you can ask the project admins to send a message.
