Line was in Mississippi (perhaps Hancock Co MS), Jasper County TX and on to Rapies Parish, Louisiana and Vernon Parish, Louisiana. 

IF Hancock Co MS is correct, there are a number of early Smiths that we would love to get some additional testers for to sort them out. Particularly, of course, anyone who is a descendant of Thomas Smith and/or Fielding Smith who was in 1840 Hancock Co MS. 
If you have additional information and would, again, ask that if you have done DNA for these lines that you come join the project so that we can create a baseline
