Found the original will of Joseph L. Smith (1761), father of Gilderoy West Smith. Joseph named two additional children that I didn't know about from a 'first wife', a son, Solomon and a daughter, Sarah. Also found a marriage for Joseph and his first wife, a Susannah Kinsey. Joseph started out in Pa. or Md. but moved to Greenville Dist., SC where he died. He also names his second wife, Priscilla. Her  maiden name was most likely Johnson. Through family history and written letters Joseph L. (1761), Gilderoy (1809), John (1790) and Joseph Hiram (1799), are related. I just need to know how. Was Joseph L. the father of all these guys? Need more info. Note: John (1790) has by some been noted as John S. I've not seen any proof of this. However, his son John, supposedly a Jr., has a verified middle initial of S. (marriage records). That being said could John (1790) and John Jr. middle names be Solomon? John being a son by Joseph's first wife, Susannah Kinsey.
