      I have a picture of John Bennett Smith and his wife Mag Smith.

      John Bennett Smith died of pneumonia while his children were small. John and his wife Margaret E. Smith was received 11 Aug 1882 at Easley 1st Baptist Church, Easley SC.

      Cliff Smith told Linda Smith Cheek in 1970 that John Bennett could play a musical instrument and sing. (piano) that he was a Blacksmith and farmer and Brush Arbor Preacher

      John Bennett Smith was a tall man about 6'6 tall, educated.

      His obit written by his brother O.H.C. Smith states buried Georges Creek Baptist Church. In Easley First Baptist Church records where O.H.C. Smith was at one time Church clerk. Records at Furman University research Library.

    • Research of Linda Smith Cheek--What I have found on Olar M. Smith b. Aug 1886 Easley, Pickens Co., SC and died 1933 in Red Oak, Fulton Co., GA. He married Myrtie Smith b. 1895 Merriweather Co GA. She was the daughter of J. Walter Smith and Georgia Unknown Smith of Merriweather Co GA.

      Olar and Myrtie Smith had children:
      Frances D. Smith m. Hershel Jones., Early H. Smith , Albert Smith.
      Myrtie and family was in 1940 census of Fulton Co GA as widow.
      The 1950 census will not be out for about 10 more years.
