    Will abstracted 17 July 1802 prov 11 June 1804 of the county of Louisa taking into consideration the certainty of death etc. It is my will and desire that all my debts paid etc. The following salves be emancipated Betty Kinney her son Billy Kinney her daughter Sally Kinney with the children of said Sally Kinney to wit - Louisa- John-David-Amelia and Sam and every other child or children which she may hereafter have and hereby emancipate and set free teh said (named again) and fifty acres of land I now reside on to them and their heirs forever etc rest of negroes except my blacksmith and those hereafter loaned to my mother, be sold etc
    To my brother Charles Smith the sum of two thousand dollars out of the sale of my negroes hereafter sold which sum with the land which is hereafter devisded him I expect make what i give equal to what I gave heretofore by deed to my brother John S Smith - but my said brother charles must be responsible for one fifth part of all sum of money which may be due or recovered from my estate on account of my debt or debts due form John Snelson or my father Charles Smith dec'd after giving credit for the money which may be recovered of Garland Anderson by virtue of his deed of tract made to secure the said Charles Smith decd. I likewise give and bequeath to my brother Charles Smith one sixth part of all my land in Louisa and Hanover to be laid off in one tract in either of the said Counties.
    Negroes, stock to which I have to be retained on my different plantations be kept there for the length and support of my children- Christopher Lewis Smith my silver watch - Catherine Snelson Smith - Nathaniel Anderson Smith excpet those loaned my mother, until my sons Christopher Lewis Smith comes of age then the land and negroes to be laid off so as to give his one thired etc with balance kept together until my daughter Catherine Snelson Smith comes of age, to Nathaniel Anderson Smith when comes of age etc. To my beloved mother the land whereon I now live, salves and a driver for her carriage, all my household furniture, etc. I lend to her during her life. My desire to my exors that they support my mother in the manner which she usually lives and supply her liberally as she has been to me the best of mothers. Exors.
