    • On the 1850 Jackson, TN census the name Jonas R looks like James R and he was listed as 5 yrs old living with his parents and siblings. (b.y. 1845) On the 1860 Smith Co. TN census he was 13 years old (b.y. 1847) and was living with his parents, Archibald and Rachel, and 7 brothers and sisters. In Civil War, KY, 17th Calvery, Company K. On 1870 Caseyville, KY census J.R. Dill is married to Roxanna Dill and they have a daughter, Hatty. He is 24 (b.y. 1846) Roxie is 22 (b.y. 1848). 1880 Spottsville, KY, Listed as Jonas HILL with wife, Ann HILL. They are both 34 yrs (b.y. 1846) On 1900 census, “Jona” and Roxanna both say they were born in May of 1840 and that they are 60 years old. (b.y. 1840). For some reason, he lists the place of birth of his father as Indiana., , , , ,
