    I Nathaniel H. Smith of the county and state aforsaid knowing the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death and being of sound mind and disposing memory do for the purpose of disposing of my earthly goods after first resigning my soule to him that gave it and my body to the dust to be buried in a plain and decient manner do hereby make ordain publish and declare this my last will and testament.


    Item First It is my desire that my executors herein named despose of such of my property as they may deam best to discharge and pay off all my just debts as soon as practicable


    Item 2nd I give and bequeath to my wife Sarah Smith the sum of fifty dollars to be paid to her ny my executors as soon as possible after my death.


    Item 3rd It is my will and desire that all my estate both real and personal after the payment of my debts and this amount named in Item second to my wife Sarah Smith to be equally devided between my children to wit Montgomery Pike Smith, Stephen Deciatur Smith, Mary Elizabeth Smith. Walton Hill Smith, Catherine Palistine Smith and Sarah Frances Smith and should I depart this life having other children for them to recieve also an equal perportion of my estate with the rest of my children named in this item.


    Item 4th It is my desire and request that my said executors herein after named shall take care of my children as they may deam best immediately after my death.


    Item 5th I do herby constitute and appoint Charles Smith, Mark Smith and Thomas Duke my executors to this my last will ant testament hereby revoking all other wills here to fore made by me
